South Africa, the world’s largest producer of chromium, has approved measures to support the domestic ferrochrome industry, including an export tax on chromium ore, according to a Cabinet statement on Thursday.
“Interventions include a proposal to introduce an export tax on chrome ore, the use of energy efficiency technologies in smelters, and the adoption of co-generation and self-generation technologies.” President Jackson Mutembu said in a statement.
So there was an uptrend of chromium ore price in future.
