Moistuer and clay content of Iron Chromite sand
Iron Chromite sand for casting has good high-temperature performance, mainly manifested as high temperature casting resistance, excellent slag resistance, small thermal expansion coefficient, outstanding thermal conductivity, no sharp corners in broken particles, and high strength. In addition, the moisture content and clay content of chromite sand are also important indicators of chromite iron sand.
1.The moisture content in casting sand can affect the gas evolution, permeability, and flowability of the molding sand. Therefore, after washing Iron chrome ore sand with water, physical drying should be carried out, and the precipitation content should be controlled within 0.1%.
2. Iron chromite sand for casting is processed from natural chromium ore, and dust is inevitably generated during the production process. In the field of casting, mineral particles smaller than 20um are called clay particles. The clay content directly affects the strength, fire resistance, and permeability of the molding sand. Therefore, in actual production, on the one hand, high-grade chrome ore is selected. On the other hand, the washing and screening process is controlled to keep the clay content within 0.3%.
