Foundry Chromite Sand AFS40-45/AFS45-55

Foundry Chromite Sand is a natural spinel dominated by chromite sand from South Africa. It is a high-performance casting sand for foundies. After crushing, grinding, and sieving in our factory in China, it is divided into prescribed grain sizes and suitable for foundry. The grain size range is controlled by the AFS fineness standard. With high Cr2O3 (≥46.0%) and low SiO2(≤1.0%), foundry chromite sand works well with most casting technology and casting steel types.

Foundry Chromite Sand AFS40-45/AFS45-55 FEATURES：

1. Higher thermal conductivity than silica sand and foundry ceramic sand.
2. Neutral PH value. No reaction with FeO & Metal & Alloy. Avoid Mechanical and chemical sand sticking to castings.
3. High solid sintering temperature and refractoriness to eliminate stick sand, especially for manganese steel and alloy steel castings.
4. Low thermal expansion rate to make higher casting precision.
5. 4-5 sieve mesh production.
6. Low turbidity with little dust and magnetic impurities.
7. Recyclable for resin-coated sand casting.

• Chromite sand is ideal for high-duty grey iron and steel foundries as core and mold-making sand for lost foam casting, shell molding casting, investment casting, etc.
• The high thermal conductivity of chromite sand gives it good chilling properties; low thermal expansion gives rise to good dimensional stability.
• Its basicity being close to neutral allows the use of a wide range of resin bonding systems and inorganic binders, it has high refractoriness and a broad sieve distribution.
