Foundry grade chromite sand is a type of casting surface sand that is resistant to high temperatures, has strong thermal conductivity, and dissipates heat quickly. Chromite sand AFS40-45 is an superior chill material for large and extra large castings to replace iron chills. Placing chromite ore sand AFS 40-45 in the hot spot, corner, and riser areas works well for the castings.
For large quantities of goods, the transportation cost of bulk carriers is lower than that of containers. Recently, 500 tons Foundry Chromite sand AFS45-55 were loaded onto ships for export.
Affected by the international market, the overseas demand for chromite sand has increased. 200 tons of casting grade 46% chromite sand AFS 45-55 are ready for export.
Moulding Chromite sand is an important refractory material in foundry industry. The high thermal resistance temperature, good thermal conductivity, low expansion coefficient, and excellent melting metal penetrate resistance make it suitable for many casting processes.
Our factory in China produce dry chromite sand by washing, megenatic removal, seiving with AFS fineness standard. Now we have about 20000 Tons of moulding chromite sand for sale every month.
Chromite sand AFS 40-50 is a black casting sand with a semi metallic luster. It comes from chrome ore in nature. Chromite sand has a Mohs hardness of 5.5-6.5 and a specific gravity of 4.3-4.8g/cm3. Natural chromite ore is composed of two parts: spinel and gangue, which are usually associated. Spinel is Mg · FeO Al Cr2O3, gangue is serpentinite H4 Fe · Mg3 Si2O9 (hydrated silicon magnesium), and there are also small amounts of magnesium olivine, quartz, green pyroxene and other forms in chromite. The quartz (SiO2) in it is harmful to the chromium ore used in casting and needs to be removed through processing methods.
