Chromite Powder and Grain for Magnesia- chromite refractory bricks

The chromium materials used to make magnesia-chromite bricks are natural chromite grain and chromite powder with a chromium content of more than 46%. Chromite ore powder has the following performance advantages:

1. The chromium content is more than 46% and the silicon content is less than 1%, which ensures that the chromium material has a good refractory temperature.
2. The thermal expansion coefficient of chromite particles and chromite powder is low, which is conducive to preventing the volume shrinkage or expansion of refractory bricks.
3. The sintering temperature of chromite sand is high and the resistance to alkaline slag is excellent.
4. The thermal conductivity of chromite powder is excellent.
5. The mechanical strength of chromite sand is high, and the refractory material has good bending strength.

Due to the excellent thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion rate of chromite powder, the magnesia-chrome brick made by combining it with magnesia sand through a special process formula has excellent performance. It has a higher fracture temperature than pure magnesia or chromium refractory materials, and will not shrink during firing. At the same time, it has a high load softening temperature and bending strength. Its chemical property is alkaline, which can resist the erosion of alkaline slag and has high application value.

Magnesia-chrome refractory bricks have the advantages of high load softening refractory temperature of magnesia refractory bricks and anti-volume expansion of chrome refractory bricks. Therefore, magnesia-chrome combined refractory bricks are suitable for heat-sensitive parts of high-temperature kilns, such as:
1. Slag line and side wall hot surface of steelmaking electric furnace,
2. Open furnace roof, partition wall, end wall,
3. Vulnerable parts of RH furnace,
4. Slag line of VOD furnace and LF furnace
5. Slag line and tuyere area of AOD furnace
6. Flash furnace reaction tower and sedimentation tank
7. Converter and anode furnace of non-ferrous metal smelting furnace
8. Cement rotary kiln
9. Glass melting furnace regenerator

At the same time, it should be noted that chromium-containing refractory materials will contaminate steel due to metallic chromium, and will also color glass. Therefore, magnesia-chrome bricks cannot be used as the steel outlet of electric arc furnace or the lining of induction furnace, nor can they be used to build the roof of glass tank kiln.
