increase the cooling speed of melted steel liquid. On one hand, it prevents a chemical reaction at high temperatures. So casting will get off from the shell. It is easier to clean the casting surface.

On the other hand, it also increases the solidification process of molten steel. It will make less shrinkage and porosity of steel castings.

The resistance to high temperatures will help chromite sand stable to molten steel.

  1. Low thermal expansion.

That property of foundry chromite sand will help to decrease the unshaped defects on castings.
