Manual seive inspection and Automatic seive inspection for Foundry chromite sand

Foundry chromite sand has special requirements for particle size distribution and high requirements for the proportion of each sieve segment. When testing particle size and AFS value, manual seive inspection and automatic seive inspection can be used for testing, and there are certain differences between the two. The specific differences are as follows:

1. Manual seive inspection

Manual seive inspection is a test in which the quality inspector shakes the sieve manually. It has the advantages of low cost, short time consumption, and fast results. However, the particle size distribution is less accurate and usually differs from the results of third-party testing.

2. Automatic seive inspection

Automatic seive inspection uses electric vibrating screens for testing. The vibration duration of each sieve can be set as needed, and the vibration frequency and force are also higher than those of manual sieves. Therefore, the detected particle size distribution and AFS value are more accurate.

In actual production, foundries, chromite sand manufacturers, and testing agencies use different methods and equipment. Slight differences in test results are normal.
